Lake Catherine was born in the 1920’s with the construction of Remmel Dam to generate    hydroelectric power for a rural Arkansas area.  This beautiful clear water lake, with almost 1940 acres of water, is located only minutes from the cities of Hot Springs and Malvern.  Starting with Remmel Dam and Lake Catherine State Park on one end and going to Carpenter Dam and Entergy Park on the other end, the lake meanders through the Ouachita Mountains.

It is a perfect place to relax and enjoy beautiful wooded mountains and days that begin and end with spectacular sunrises and sunsets.  You will find what your heart desires with Catherine’s vast array of activities all of which can be easily accessed from Diamondhead.

Enjoy a host of leisure opportunities:

  • Fishing
  • Boating
  • Water Sports
  • Camping
  • Cabins
  • Camp Site
  • RV Sites
  • Hiking
  • Horseback Riding
  • Scenic Nature Observation
  • Birds
  • Wildlife
  • Trees and Indigenous Arkansas Vegetation

A notable benefit of living in Diamondhead is the absence of prevailing winds. The breath-taking reflections seen off the normally calm lake waters, especially in the autumn season, are a perfect setting for the ultimate photograph or painting.
