Law Enforcement
The Diamondhead Police Department provides 24-hour protection to the entire Diamondhead Community. Diamondhead’s Chief of Police, Patrick C. Mahoney, and his officers are duly commissioned and Certified Law Enforcement Officers. They are deputized by the Sheriffs’ Department in both Garland and Hot Spring counties and have arrest authority in both counties. This relationship allows both Sheriffs’ Departments to enter into Diamondhead and assist Diamondhead Police. It also enables Diamondhead Officers to assist those county agencies as well. Upon arriving at the Diamondhead front gate you will be welcomed by one of our officers who will be glad to assist you. The intent of our gate is not to restrict access, we welcome all visitors, but to allow our residents a higher degree of security especially in the late night hours.
Diamondhead’s Law Enforcement Officers ensure that only Members, or other authorized individuals, have access to our community. Therefore, the Gate must be notified of the expected arrival of guests, service personnel or delivery trucks for admission. Additionally, Members may indicate that they wish to be notified by telephone when these individuals arrive. Members often choose to meet their new guests at the gate.
Our Department patrols approximately 42 miles of roads in Diamondhead. They also provide house checks for individuals who are away on vacations. Once a form has been completed at the front gate, it is passed on to Law Enforcement and that residence is then put on a house watch list. Between our Department and the two county agencies patrolling Diamondhead, we should never be short on police protection. Chief Mahoney’s door is always open, so when driving by stop in and visit your Police Department.
